FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

 

Code Enforcement

-        22 new complaints for Code Enforcement during this reporting period

-        21 follow-up inspections were conducted

-        38 cases were closed

-        10 warnings were issued

-        29 illegal signs were removed from the Right-of-Way

-        Continued work on Geographical Information Systems (GIS) map for Urban Redevelopment map

-        Inspected three (3) properties from the Foreclosed or Vacant Property Registry

 

Human Resources

-        Job Postings- extended posting through 08/02/2013

o   Staff training with Henry County Police Department scheduled for July 30, 2013

 

Municipal Court

-        Citations received- 146

-        Warrants issued- 9

-        Citations sent to Georgia Department of Drivers’ Services for failure to appear- 0

-        Arraignments were held on Monday 07/22/2013 and trials on 07/23/2013

-        Clerk of Court attended meeting with Judges and Solicitor

-        Deputy Court Clerks attended Performance Review Employee Training

 

Payroll

Planning

-        Staff met with commercial real estate broker regarding a prospective industrial use location in the city

-        Staff met with Atlanta Regional Commission to review and discuss the current draft of the sign ordinance

-        Participated in two (2) plan review meetings and discussions

o   Proposed Assisted Living Facility at Monarch Village

o   Proposed Krispy Kreme Doughnut location on Hwy 138

§  Discussed Stormwater compliance requirements with Project Engineers

-        Staff met to discuss the city’s Geographic Information Systems long and short term needs

-        Staff presented two (2) agenda items to City Council at the Special Called Meeting July 25, 2013

o   APPROVED - Expansion of the City’s Urban Redevelopment Plan for the purpose of incorporating the plan policies of the 10 year Livable Cities Initiative update.

o   APPROVED - Resolution approving staff’s request to submit an application to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for the purpose of designating portions of Stockbridge’s Urban Redevelopment areas as an Opportunity Zone (OZ). The OZ will allow the maximum State job tax credits ($3,500) be made available to businesses that create two (2) or more jobs.

 

Utility Billing

-        Unloaded readings from the Versa Terms for the August 1st billing cycle

-        Disconnected 47 meters due to non-payment

-        Reviewed preliminary billing register for August 1st billing

-        Received $19,446.64 in Water and Sewer revenues

-        Received Charter Franchise check in the amount of $31,316.58

-        Received $477.29 from Henry County Tax Commissioner for Sanitation and Stormwater

-        Utility Billing staff attended the Performance Review Training for Employees

 

Merle Manders Conference Center

-        MMCC: 4 meetings/events

o   Weekly revenue: $3,000.00¹

o   YTD collected revenue: $101,629.00²

PUBLIC WORKS (Sanitation, Stormwater, Waste Water, Sewage and General Maintenance)

 

General Maintenance

-        Mowed grass and cleaned:

o   North Henry Boulevard (State Route Hwy 42)

o   Shields Road

o   Ward Street

o   Hwy 42 South (State Route)

o   Gardner Park

o   Clark Park

o   Memorial Park

-        Total of garbage removed: 119.60 tons

-        Total of commercial garbage removed: 3.43 tons

-        Total of yard waste removed:  25.60 tons

-        Special pick-ups: 5 (totaling 1.24 tons)

-        Total of community service hours provided: 40 hours

-        Completed restoration of Old Police Station
Employees attended Performance Review Training for Employees

 

Sewage Department

-        Treated 5.722 million gallons of wastewater. Average daily flow of 817,429 gallons per day

-        Removed and spread 60,000 gallons of Bio-Solids on field off Oak Grove Road

-        Addressed one (1) sewer backup on the 100 block of Wilson Avenue caused by roots and grease in the line

-        Addressed one (1) sewer backup on the 100 block of Spring Street caused by blockage on customer side

 

Stormwater

-        Located utilities on Lambert Drive and Davis Road for ditch repair

-        Street Sweeping services provided to major thoroughfare route (Eagles Landing Parkway area)

-        Street Sweeping services provided to Route 2 (Avian Forest, Langley Oaks and Appleton subdivisions)

-        Street Sweeping inspections performed on Route 2 (Avian Forest, Langley Oaks and Appleton subdivisions)

-        Responded to three (3) citizen concern on Rosenwald Circle, Lambert Drive and Wilson Street

-        Compiled field inspection reports

 

Water Department

-        The City’s three (3) wells pumped 2,181,000 gallons (46%) and 2,556,000 gallons (54%) was purchased from Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority totaling 3,445,000 gallons of water consumed by Stockbridge residents. This average daily usage of 676,728 gallons per day is 0.03% more than last year’s daily average of 654,502 gallons per day

-        Staff completed the monthly meter reading cycle

-        Staff completed the monthly meter cut off cycle

-        1 leak was repaired in the Appleton subdivision

-        1 leak was repaired in the Glynn Addy subdivision

-        Staff received one-on-one training on the groundwater pumping station

-        16 work orders were completed
